So we didn’t get the white Christmas we wanted, but Christmas was great!
Ethan was spoiled with toys, clothes, diapers, formula, books, cds, dvds, and a cd player. It’s amazing how a childs stuff can take over a home so quickly! His closet is jam packed.. so we’ve been putting some of it in the back of our closet!Â
And with all of the new gadgets our son has accumulated, we’ve decided we’re going to redo some rooms in our house. We’re going to move the wall in our bathroom back up into the laundry room.. which in turn gives us a much larger bathroom! I know that you probably don’t understand this because you’ve never seen my house, but it will make such a difference. We’re also going to have more cabinet space in there, as well as a new bathtub/shower unit. We were planning on getting a new shower anyway, so this is perfect. We’ll also close off the old bathroom door in our kitchen and relocate it to the other wall. This will close off our kitchen and allow for more cabinet/counter top space. Who doesn’t need a bit more storage?
Also.. my parents house is almost near complete. We’ll be giving them back their dresser and queen bed out of our guest bedroom and buying ourselves a nice daybed set and some shelving units for the guest bedroom. These shelves will have books across the top shelves, but baskets on the bottom shelves for more of Ethan’s toys! Our son was seriously so spoiled that we’re now having to be creative in our storage options. I can’t complain too much though.. it was nice receiving all of these things. It’s much less that we have to buy him for a while.Â
Jeff and I were somewhat spoiled this year, as well. More so Jeff, but it’s okay.. I got the best birthday and Christmas present this year! I got a bunch of clothes, some dvds, a new purse, a new printer, and board games. Jeff got clothes, dvds, a coffee maker, and pajamas. Together we got some new sheets, a roaster, some more dvds, coasters, picture frames, gift cards, money, etc.Â
Speaking of Christmas.. Jeff’s mom and my Aunt got Ethan some pajamas and they are so adorable! The sad part is that they’re 6-12 month in size and he’s already close to out growing them! Sometimes, I wish he wasn’t so long.. then some of the most adorable outfits alive would fit him a little longer. I’m impressed by how quickly he’s growing and developing. He’s holding his own head up pretty regularly now.Â
And I’ll end with the worlds greatest Christmas present I received…
Ethan slept 9 1/2 hours on Christmas Eve! He did it again last night, too. Am I a lucky mama or what?
P.S. – I added pictures to my coppermine gallery, so check it out!

Friday, I’m finishing up all of my Christmas shopping. My mother and I are going down to Fort Wayne and we’re finishing up those people on our lists! I’m so excited.
I cannot wait to have my FIRST family Christmas with Ethan!
Nothing too exciting has been going on these days. Ethan was sick most of yesterday and today, he’s feeling much better. We’ve been playing most of the morning, but he crashed for a few.. so I’m taking the opportunity to blog and warm up some lunch!Â
Anyways.. I’m off! He’s waking up slowly and my lunch is ready..

Today’s been wonderful.
Everything that could possibly be going right, has.
We missed the garbage truck today, but that’s alright. We didn’t have much trash to send with it anyway.
Ethan slept for almost five solid hours last night. After I took care of his needs, he slept for three and a half, then woke up again for a few. He then wound up sleeping for two more hours. His first nap of the day was on his Daddy’s chest, which makes my heart melt. My two favorite people, snuggled up on the couch. Oh how I cannot wait for my son to be just a tad bit bigger. We could all snuggle up in our king sized bed, with the down feather comforter and watch movies or talk. Even though I’m enjoying my pint-sized munchkin, I’m in love the idea of him being a tad bit bigger.
Ethan’s appointment went well yesterday. He has his first set of shots and held on like a trooper for the beginning, but then.. they were done and he screamed. My eyes teared up like you wouldn’t believe. Part of me wanted to hold him closely and take him away from those evil nurses, but then I reminded myself why we were there.
Sunday we’re having Christmas with one side of Jeff’s family. I love seeing his Aunt Ida and Uncle Ben, we always have so much fun. They truly are two of my favorite people!
Christmas shopping will be complete next Thursday. Why so long you ask? Well.. we’re just too busy these next couple of weeks and next Thursday, my parents are babysitting so that we can get some alone time in and finish shopping. I’m actually pretty excited about spending time with my husband.. it’s been a couple of months.
Then comes the most dreaded day.. Saturday, the 23rd. My biological father, or the sperm donor, as I like to call him, will be coming down to see Ethan. Keep in mind, I’ve not seen the man in nearly two years and I tried my hardest to keep him away. I’m not sure how things will go and as much as I want them to go smoothly for the sake of my son and my brothers. I’m just praying that I have the strength to smile instead of scream. Even more so, I hope he doesn’t think that he can walk back into our lives and pretend like things are okay.
Christmas Eve is reserved for Jeff’s other grandparents. From then on out, it’s Christmas events with my family! I cannot wait to see my nephew Zachary.. It’s only been two weeks, but I miss him more than words!
Anyway, I’ve babbled on long enough. I need to take care of a few things and think about rounding up the things for Ethan’s and my bedtime tonight.

I’m so excited for Christmas this year.
Jeff and I have somewhat finished our Christmas shopping. We still have a little bit left to do, but we’re getting there. Money isn’t the greatest these days, thanks to hospital bills. Sometimes, I could kick myself in the butt for not opting for the “premium” insurance Jeff’s company has to offer. With Ethan here now, I finally got around to switching over!
Anyway.. things are going well. Jeff took on a second job, but it’s not as stressful as his first. I seriously am so grateful that I’ve be able to keep staying home with our son. Ethan’s amazing.. and I don’t want to miss a moment! He laughs all the time now and smiles, but never seems to be smiling when pictures are being taken! He keeps rolling over and over, which cracks me up. He’s not 100% sure on how to get up from his belly and so he’ll start pouting.. but it’s soooo cute! He drools too, just like his mama.
Ethan’s napping right now.. so I should probably get off of here and get some work done around the house. I’m having my first Mary Kay party on Monday and I have so much work to do! Having a baby takes up most of my time these days.. so the house isn’t really up to par! If anybody would like to purchase MK products from me, just shoot me an email and let me know! I’d be more than happy to help you out!

For the life of me, I can not find the motivation to stay on top of things. I have to read a novel by next Tuesday, plus finish writing my research paper, which was due yesterday. My professor is amazing though and is allowing me some extra time, but still. I need to get it done! I have my final to finish before next week, as well. I need to write my four essays. I’m seriously feeling overwhelmed, but I’ll be sure to get it all done.
Jeff and I had a better day today, despite the grumpiness of Ethan. He’s been extremely fussy for the last couple of days and it breaks my heart.. especially when there seems to be nothing that cheers him up. After several hours of fussiness, I did manage to get him laid down so that I could work on my paper. Yes, I’m working on my paper and writing in my journal. How mom-like is that?
My house is a disaster and it’s depressing me! I want to finish putting up Christmas decorations so that the boxes can go back in the basement. I also would LOVE for my JCPenney’s shipment to arrive so that I may get those gifts wrapped sometime soon.
Money has been somewhat tight lately, so we’ve been smart shopping. We’ve broken it down into weeks and have accomplished at least one or two people each week. We still have a couple of people left and the rest of the presents between our family. Christmas with my parents and siblings is over New Years weekend, which helps put some shopping off for a little while.
I cannot wait for the hospital bills to quit pouring in. Every time I open one up, I feel like my son is on loan.
It’s one of the worst feelings ever! I do think we’re almost done paying them though, which will be nice and it’ll free up some money again!
My lazy bum did manage to get classes registered for next semester and I can’t wait. I’m not overly excited about the drive, but I’m happy that school is getting closer to being over. Only two more semesters and I’m out of there!
Anyway, I’m going to try to do some housework while my little man is still passed out in his bassinet! Then I may try to squeeze in a nap.. who knows.
I probably can’t get that lucky, but we’ll try!Â
