New Years Eve

Monday, December 31st, 2007

Tonight Jeff and I are going to bum around the house and celebrate the New Year with our son.  While I would love to be out and about with some of our friends/family, I just am not feeling it this year.  We have been on the run since the start of the holiday season, so a night home sounds pretty darn good right now.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy New Year!

My morning started off better than most.

I normally am wide awake when the alarm goes off for Jeff to get up and around for work, but today my body refused to even move an inch.  The last thing I remember after Jeff shutting the alarm off was a kiss on the top of my head and “I love you.”  He even tucked the covers around me. And everyone wonders why I love my guy so much.

I wanted to share some of my favorite Christmas photos and a couple of shots from my scrapbook.  Sorry about the not so great photos of my scrapbook, but at least you’re getting a small hint as to what the rest looks like, no?  On to the photos…

E didn't even open this gift. :D

So I’m late…

Santa was good to us this year, as was our family.  We made out like bandits!  Most years my parents go overboard, but this year was just right and I liked it better.

E wasn’t too sure about opening presents.  I think he was a tad confused from me always telling him no and now I’m giving him permission to open them.  We did manage to get him to open a couple, but then he was over the whole experience.  Christmas with him this year was much better than last year.  He was so excited about the wrapping paper, boxes, and just enjoyed running around.

Jeff got a bunch of clothes, some movies, gift cards, and tools.  He is one the hardest people to shop for because he won’t make out a list for anyone.  I normally try to pay attention throughout the year and pick up on things that he wants, but this year he just didn’t want anything. :\

My gifts were awesome.  I got scrapbooking supplies/things (eeeeek!!!!), movies, gift cards, clothes, Rascal Flatts cd, Tim McGraw cd, Deceptively Delicious cookbook, and I’m sure I’m missing something.  Needless to say, I’m a happy girl!  Scrapbooking is a huge part of my life and oh my gosh, I will just have to take a picture and show you the next things I received.  One of my gifts isn’t here yet though… Jeff wanted to buy me the cricket machine, but they were sold out everywhere around here!

Jeff and I also bought ourselves some new sheets as an early gift and my parents got us a new duvet cover.  It is so gorgeous.. I’m in love with it!

I will have pictures to share when I find my camera.  E has been taking it off the charger and hiding it lately. :\  Anyway, it’s kind of late in the morning and neither E and I have eaten.  I tried feeding him, but he’s not feeling it today so I should probably try again.

Scrapbooking

Sunday, December 23rd, 2007

Last night, I stayed up a bit later than I wanted to do some scrapbooking.  I am probably 2 months behind in photos, but am hoping to catch up over the course of the next 2 days.  Jeff is home today, tomorrow, and of course Tuesday because of Christmas so I should be able to get quite a bit done.  I managed to throw together a page about E’s visit with Santa and will hopefully finish up his 1st birthday pages tonight.  Thank you, thank you, thank you to my hubby for all of my early Christmas presents…  He bought me several new things for my scrapbooking obsession!!!

Anyway… E is awake from his nap so I need to wrap up my work and get downstairs.  Speaking of work, go take a look at TinyWishes!  I managed to get up a couple of reviews and recipes.  :)

Long couple of days…

Thursday Mel & the kids came over to make cookies.  E had a blast!  He loves playing with J and A, loves it.  Actually, he flirts with A instead of play, but you get the idea.  We made some almond cookies, sour cream sugar cookies, oatmeal cookies, and chocolate chip cookies.  They all came out, but we were not impressed by the sour cream sugar cookies and oatmeal cookies.  I will have to try the recipes again and figure out what went wrong. :\  I also made 2 loaves of bread in throughout the day and they came out wonderfully!  I made your traditional country white bread and banana nut bread.  Yummy!

Yesterday, Jeff got out of work early so we loaded up E and my mother in the truck and went shopping.  I thought I was done shopping, but realized that I had forgotten my in-laws.  Oops!  Needless to say, we’re officially done.  While at the mall, we took E to meet/see Santa.  On our way through the line E laughed and pointed at everything.  He was in awe by the decor as well as the old kidlets.  We thought seeing Santa was going to be a breeze, but it wasn’t.  He did not like Santa and was actually afraid of him. :(   We still purchased a picture though, for scrapbooking of course.

All in all, the last few days have been nice.  I have more to say, but E’s screaming his head off right now.  Poor little man has had night terrors since I took him off his medicine.  I will update with pictures later!
