I don’t even want to begin trying to think of a title for this post… I would be at loss. Everything is going to be a big, random jumbled up mess right now anyway and how do you describe that?!
Firstly, Jeff and I will not be flying down to Myrtle Beach for my grandmother’s funeral. After giving it much thought and consideration- we’re not going. It would cost us well over a $1,000 to get there and then what? We’d be in the room with a bunch of family members that I barely know anymore (as they’ve shut me out of their lives). I wanted to be there for support for my father and my brothers… and after talking to my father, he suggested that I save the money, stay home, and when they get back we can spend time together. He didn’t have any hard feelings and was touched by the thought I was even willing to travel so far for a woman who treated me like chopped liver most of my life.
Secondly, yesterday proved to be a very good day. After taking Ethan to the babysitters, I went to get my hair trimmed and flat ironed. Cary’s amazing and pretty much always flat irons my hair for me before I walk out of the salon. She always tells me that I do not speak volumes about her work if I do not take the time to do my hair..
She will not even be seen in public with me if I look a mess (which happens to be like 90% of the time these days).
Aside from the trip to the salon, I called our bank only to discover 2 things… 1) Jeff’s check is finally being deposited into our checking rather than savings and 2) our federal income tax return came in almost 4 days sooner than it was supposed to. So for those of you who have been following my 101 Goals, you will notice so many of those things getting done within the upcoming week. And the good news doesn’t end there my friends, oh no, we have more.
On my way home from town, I swung by the pediatricians office to give them a copy of our insurance card (the one we’re getting through Jeff’s work). Rhonda told me to bring it to her so she could see what could be done. They are going to try billing the insurance… and the worst that happens is that we pay 50% of the fees out of pocket vs. the 30% we’d pay if they were included in our network. Keep your fingers crossed that the insurance goes through… Either way, Dr. H’s office is trying their best to work with us and they’re willing to fill out paperwork to become part of the network. I’m telling you, you cannot ask for better service. They are an amazing doctors office.
Even with the week starting off kind of “eh,” it definitely is ending on a good foot. I think I may even treat my hubby to dinner tonight at his favorite restaurant. Just think- goals #12, 13, 18, & 21 will be complete on Tuesday morning. I’m so relieved to be able to take care of these things… it feels good to have weight lifted from your shoulders. I hope everyone has a good weekend.
