After the whole rectal tearing issue with Ethan, I thought we would be in the clear. No such luck. We found ourselves back at the doctors office mid-Friday for Addison. She is once again have problems with mucous and her feedings. Our pediatrician recommended some different tips/tricks to help the situation, took her off of her stomach medication, ordered an ultrasound to check for Pyloric Stenosis (again) and gave us some paperwork to take to the Children’s Hospital should she get increasingly worse. So far, so good. Her 4am feeding went smoothly, as did her 9am feeding- both were actually vomit free.

When Dr. Linda told us to take Addison off her stomach medication, I will admit I let out a sigh of relief. I hate the thought of babies being on medication. And though I know that some children absolutely need certain medications, I still do not like the thought.  The decision for Addison to come off from her stomach medication was simple- if she cannot hold the medication down, it is not doing its job.  Plus, they are also thinking that her issue may not be reflux anymore. It is much more likely that my daughter produces copious amounts of mucous and the mucous itself could be irritating the stomach.

I would say we made away like bandits this week with the doctors. Nothing too serious, nothing that put us in the hospital and grateful that Ethan did not have to suffer through a colon cleansing to regulate his bowels.  Please help us pray that Ethan’s bowels go back to normal and that things remain on the up and up with Addison…  And while I’m asking for prayers for my children, please also take the time to prayer for two more babies.  Stellan and Veiyah need all of the prayers, love and support you can give to them and their families.
