It's seriously a joke how poorly made appliances are today. My grandparents had their old refrigerator for almost 40 years before it finally died out and their washer & dryer set for about 30 before having to replace it. Over the weekend, my mom discovered that our washer is leaking and we probably won't be able to get the parts to repair it. We really can't complain- that washer is at least 32 years old- but it's a major inconvenience. Plus, they just don't make 'em like they used to- we looked at the washers we can buy nowadays, and I guarantee they won't last 32 years!
