I should be given an award.

My week has not gone exactly as I had planned, but when does it ever? Ethan woke up on the wrong side of the bed and has yet to wake up on correct side. He is either extremely whiny, cranky or misbehaving.

Monday: Ethan woke me up, but only after squeezing out an entire bottle of lotion all over our carpeting, hutch and our suede couch. He then thought it humorous to find a gallon of ice cream and hide it in his bedroom where he would periodically sneak off to during playtime for a quick snack. Lotion and ice cream are two incredibly hard substances to clean from furniture and carpeting.

Tuesday: He cried most of yesterday afternoon and took off for the neighbors house without asking. Usually he is pretty good about asking for permission to do things, but yesterday was definitely not one of those days.

Wednesday: While cleaning up the mountain of puke from Addison’s crib this morning, Ethan managed to sneak into the refrigerator for two cartons of eggs in which he so kindly busted all over the carpeting and couch. Scrubbed the heck out of the couch with dawn soap and the carpeting with white vinegar.

Today was my breaking point and as much as I hate to admit it, I burst into tears. My little man, who is notorious for being so respectful, full of manners and kind hearted has turned into a demon child in which I feel I no longer know.  How does one snap so extremely?  It was suggested by two sets of great-grandparents that maybe something is wrong.  Maybe he is not feeling well, which has given him this extra bit of crabbiness.

One of us will make through the week alive and it is beginning to seem that maybe Ethan will be the one to survive.  I am putting up my white flag in hopes of a truce.

:( I’m sorry to hear this. Perhaps something is wrong. I experienced some of the same behavior with my goddaughter. She was a perfectly fine toddler until she visited her grandparents one weekend. She came back a little monster.

Perhaps Ethan is going through a stage of rebellious sorts. I’m sure it will get better soon.

That’s got to be so incredibly frustrating. I don’t know how you stand it. I wouldn’t be able to!

    Hope things get better.

Wow. You definitely have my sympathy. I’ve had a bad day or two with Alyssa and/or Ryan, but not for a week straight, and not with those kinds of messes to be left cleaning up! *hugs*

Oh dear. I thought I had it bad with Meghan. She’s turned into a little moaner. She doesn’t shut up complaining all day and she screams and cries if you try to do something she doesn’t like. Hopefully its phases they’re both going through.
