Dear Addison,

Today is your first birthday.

Is that not the hardest thought to wrap your head around?  Has it really been a year– already?  Daddy and I were so overcome with joy when we found out that we were having a baby girl.  You were named before we even knew the gender and your nursery was set up within two weeks of finding out (furniture, bedding & some decor).

During my 33rd week, Daddy and I discovered that you were going to be a hand full for us, even this early on in the game. Dr. H performed an ultrasound on me at that appointment after we discovered that I was leaking amniotic fluid and that he could not pick up your heart rate via doppler during that routine appointment. About two minutes into the ultrasound, Dr. H found your heart rate (and you) and began laughing, telling us to enjoy this moment while we could because once you made your entrance, there would never be a dull moment and boy was he ever right! You are more than a hand full, but I wouldn’t replace it for the world.

And being a hand full is not a bad thing either because honestly, you have put more smiles on my face than I could have expected.  You are the most amazing, happiest baby ever.

Love,

Mommy
