Lists save my life nearly everyday.

ZA102891581033Working from home is not always an easy task. Most nights you can find me jotting down lists of things I need to get accomplished the following day. When the following day approaches, the list is no where to be found because the baby got a hold of the paper I was using as my “do list.” And I am sure I can speak for many mothers in my position when I say, it sucks. Because by the time I remember what all I had on my to do list, I’ve missed about twenty deadlines, forgot to put laundry in the dryer and everything gets thrown off.

Microsoft Office Live Workspace has been such a God send to my family. Though we only just started using the program, it has already helped me stay on track in so many aspects of my life. My husband doesn’t quite understand what makes this product so great, so let me break it down for you. With Microsoft Office Live Workspace, I am able to create work spaces in which I can organize the various aspects of my life- work, home, school, etc. Here are a list of the features I love:

  • I am able to create my grocery list with this program, as well as customize the columns/rows of said list.  Currently, my tabs are set to: “Item, Quantity, Brand & Coupon.”  After creating my list and sorting out coupons, I then export my list to excel and print it off.  I no longer have to be the sole grocery shopper with this convenience.
  • Our to do list?  Yeah, I can create that on this program too.  I can set deadlines for my to-do list and check it off as it’s completed.  And just like the grocery list, I am able to export this list into excel and print it out.
  • I can create an emergency contact list.
  • I can create a calendar of events list.
  • My work space for working from home has forced me to be more productive throughout the day.  It is hard to procrastinate when you have your work mapped out before you and organized by level of  importance, due dates, etc.  I believe I have shaved about two per day of work from using this tool.  With everything right at my finger tips, I am not continuously bouncing around between programs trying to decide what to do next.
  • New work spaces can easily be created and customized into categories such as: essay works paces, where you keep track of term papers you may be writing;  travel work spaces, where you manage your trips and even sports work spaces, where create and share your team rosters and season schedule.

As I said earlier, this program is a true God send.  Microsoft, you hit the nail on the head.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Microsoft Office Live. Mom Central sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.
