A Walking Zombie
Early this morning, I opened the front door to find our neighbor boy standing there. He was staring at me with a blank expression in his eyes and my heart broke in two pieces. During the summer, Ethan and our neighbor were always playing outback in the sandbox, riding bikes or fighting over cars. And then fall came and they said their heartbroken goodbyes as “C” started school and Ethan stayed home and now, it’s winter and no one really goes outdoors.
When “C” started school back in August, his teachers thought he might benefit from seeing a doctor. His mother was sure it would lead to them diagnosing ADHD and was not sure she wanted to try medications. Without fail, the doctors won the battle and now “C” is on medication for ADHD. I guess what upsets me most is that this little boy who was fully active is now a walking zombie. And truth be told, I do not think this little boy has ADHD.. I believe that his issues stem from lack of discipline, the foods he eats and the lack of (positive) attention he receives from his parents. Again, maybe I am wrong.
So let me go back to this morning. “C” just stood there looking at me when I opened the door to invite him inside. He literally stared at me for a good 2-3 minutes before stepping indoors, only to turn around and head back out the door. He did not say hello, act bashful or even ask for a thing (which he used to do all the time). He was very blah. Do people just not know what they are doing to these poor children when they medicate them so heavily?

This was an absolutely heartbreaking entry. Poor little guy.
How old is he?
I firmly believe that many diagnoses of ADHD/ADD are nothing more than wildly behaved children that could greatly benefit from better parental supervision & interaction, structure, a routine, and yes, discipline.

I just discovered SatelliteTV on my PC! Ultra cheap at only $50 once off to get the software and an account on the Internet. I get more channels(in HD I might ad) than I get on cable so tomorrow I reckon I’m going to cancel my cable subscription. Thought I’d share this with you guys, worth to check out.
