A Year of Change

New Year’s resolution’s always feel incredibly cliche, yet I continually do them. 2010 will be different– I will not make a list of resolutions.  2009 was not the kindest year for our family and could probably go down as being one of the worst.  We had our fair share of doctor visits, scares and bad news, but we are still all very much alive and (somewhat) healthy.  We still have a roof over our heads, food in our bellies and clothing on our backs.  And despite how gloomy 2009 was for our family, I chalk it up to a time of learning.

Our family is welcoming 2010 with open arms, with hopes for a year of positive change.

So what will I do this year that I did not do last year?  I will make healthier meals for my family, take on a part-time/full-time job outside of the home, finish my prerequisites for school and get a better handle on our finances.  There are only so many obstacles preventing us from reaching our goals, which means I need to get a handle on my own personal demons and dive in head first.

Starting tonight:

  • Documenting where all of our money goes, right on down to the pennies.
  • Create a monthly menu.
  • Update resume and print out copies in preparation for my job search.
  • Start organizing my desk and making a list of items needed for ultimate organization.
