As a writer for Pj Mommy, I have learned the importance of incorporating seo tools into the website to drive traffic and increase revenue. However, what I did not learn was this. I could easily drive traffic to my own site and increase revenue, but I don’t. You know why? Because I am an absolute weenie. I am afraid of making too much money and having to pay in to the IRS. Seems like a completely irrational fear, does it not? But I look forward to tax season every year because I always get a decent amount of money back. Like, enough to actually pay down my debts and help put my family a step ahead on our future plans.
As some of you may already know, I am planning on planning BlogHer this August and am scared out of my mind about meeting people. Some of these people are like celebrities to me in the land of blogging and ohmygod, what if I totally fall flat on my face while talking? or make a fool of myself? Most likely, I am making something out of nothing, but I am just not good at promoting myself. Pj Mommy? Yes. Myself? Not so much.

That fear is not an irrational one, haha. Our W2s are still sitting on my desk because I haven’t manned up enough to do our taxes and find out how much we’ll owe. I’m going to deduct every damn thing I can, including the internet bill ($50/mo), a portion of the electric bill ($20/mo), the laptop I bought last May ($700), and my cell phone bill ($60/mo), since I do use that to keep in touch with my clients and my bosses. But I’m still afraid that we’re going to owe! Argh!
