Who would have thought?
“Healing takes courage, and we all have courage, even
if we have to dig a little to find it.”
- Tori Amos
Back before having children, but yet still weighing out the idea, I remember telling Jeff that life would change forever once we made the decision to start having children. In my mind, things would change, but not drastically. And then Ethan and Addison came along and I was smacked upside the head with a strong dose of reality. Life changed completely after the birth of my two children. It was no longer about Jeff or myself, but about these two beautiful babes we created. My life revolves around my children and their well-being. I am not only their mother, but their personal chef, teacher, chauffeur, housekeeper, hygienist and stylist. I am who they come to most when they need anything.
I think back to the days when I swore up and down that I never wanted to have children and pleaded with the OB/Gyn to remove my uterus muscle (true story) and have to laugh. Back then I did not want children and now that I have them, I could not live without them. So tonight, as I left Ethan with his great-grandparents, I felt a little sad. He has stayed with family members before, on several occasions, but tonight I am having separation anxiety. I am very much looking forward to picking him up from Granny’s tomorrow after Addison’s doctors appointment.

I think you are such a good mama, because you are 100% dedicated to your children. Bringing a child into the world is such a huge, huge, huge responsibility. That’s the kind of mama I want to be some day, I just know I’m not, not, not(!!!!) ready for it yet.

I know what you mean. I always thought people were being cheesy and over dramatic when they said lovie type things about their children, especially when they mentioned how they fell in love with them at birth. But it is completely true. I would do anything for my daughter, die for her if it were necessary. She is my life. <3

Awww, that’s lovely!
I’ve always been a very maternal person and have been working with children for 3 years now from babies to 7 year olds, so I somewhat know what parenthood is like except I get to hand them back at the end of the day. One day though, I’ll have my own children and love them like you love yours
