Y’all can not even begin to imagine my excitement over the new Shrek Forever After game for Wii.  Ethan was totally geeked to see all of the Shrek paraphernalia in the mail last week.  Along with our new video game, we received Mad Libs and a coloring book.  Now seriously, how many of you remember Mad Libs?  That was the in thing to do when I was younger and now that I’m adult– I still get all giddy to see Mad Libs books.

Activision did a great job with Shrek Forever After in the sense that it (roughly) follows the storyline of that in the movie.  You are given the opportunity to play as one of the four main characters: Shrek, Fiona, Donkey and Puss in Boots.  Throughout the game, you follow large green arrows towards a goal point, fighting off enemies and solving puzzles.  Each of the characters has a special ability when it comes to fighting and clearing objects away (not giving ‘em away, sorry).  Each character can fight with basic attacks and each has their own special move that distracts or stuns the enemies.

While it’s not too long of a game, it is definitely entertaining.  Even if you’re not into video games, the dialogue/voice is pretty fun to listen to.  Ethan started to get the hang of the game after about 20 minutes and we eventually went on to have a ton of fun together.  Shrek Forever After is definitely a great game for family entertainment!
