my weakness is that i care too much.

<3So take me and let me in
Don’t break me and shut me out.

Only eight more days until he comes home.  I am not sure whether to be happy or nervous at this point in time.  There are so many decisions to made and things that need to be settled.  I am just ready for him to be back in Michigan and for life to go back to normal.  To be quite honest, this entire experience has been more emotionally draining than I ever imagined it to be and completely stressful.  It has turned me into an absolute mad woman.

In eight more days, I will have my life back in order.  There will be less stress, less worry and more happiness.  There will also be an absence from me.  Up to this point, I have done everything humanly possible to keep my mind busy.

Here’s to hoping the time goes by quickly!

the place you drop your pants.

My rant/rave may be a little strange to some, but maybe not others. Which is totally fine by me.

Is there anyone else out there that completely hates their bathroom(s)? So much that just the thought of it makes your skin crawl? Or am I completely alone on this topic? It has nothing to do with the cleanliness of my bathroom, but rather the size and layout.  What I hate most about my bathroom is the fact that if someone is sitting on the toilet, you cannot open/close the bathroom door.  You may not think this is such a bad deal, but when you are the parent to a needy toddler it can cause some serious issues.  My tub/shower area is a little outdated and in need of repairs, but manageable.  And the sink?  It’s there, but totally outdated.

Now onto the size.. it’s tiny.  One person fits in there comfortably.  Which again, makes it very hard for the mother of two needy toddlers to get around each morning.  Hence the reason I leave my house looking a hot mess!  Anyway.. on to the real reason I am discussing my  bathroom with y’all.  Earlier this morning, I was browsing www.betterbathrooms.com and could not help fantasizing about a nicer bathroom.  Some of the bathtubs on this website make my heart skip a beat.  They look absolutely dreamy and relaxing.. like something I could just soak in all evening long while reading books.

And then there are the bathroom accessories that would make shower/bath time divine.  Like heated towel racks!  Could you imagine?  It would be like pure Heaven!

Shopping extravaganza

So… I have this little problem.

I cannot quit spending money.  Christmas is my favorite time of the year, so I am shopping like crazy!  I cannot believe how many great buys I have managed to snag up and how liberating it feels to be able to actually afford to be able to do these things.

Right now, my big dilemma is this. I am looking through hats for men, trying to find something for my nephew. He is really big in to wearing hats right now, but that have to be a specific style. He is also big into converse high-tops and skinny jeans. You would think by now that I would have absolutely no difficulties shopping for him given our history, except.. this boy is difficult.  He’s big into fashion and whatnot.  Still trying to adjust to the pre-teen thing, y’all.  Not ready for him to be so grown up yet.

So ideas, please?  What do you get for a fashion conscious pre-teen boy?  I’m at a serious loss right now… and as you know, Christmas is just around the corner!

Preschool Learning Games Make Learning Fun

If a child was given the choice to learn a lesson or play a game, most children would opt for having fun. This likely doesn’t come as a surprise but things can’t be all fun and games for kids because there comes a time for learning, right? Actually, that’s not entirely true. Did you know that many researchers have found that when playing is combined with learning, kids actually learn at their best? This is why there are many preschool learning games that have been designed to keep preschoolers entertained while they develop important skills.

The right games can be very educational for kids as this type of entertainment can be engaging, informative and persuasive – in short, it can maintain their interest. In order to be able to grasp what is being taught, a child needs to be focused and their attention captured. Preschool learning games that are interactive assist in achieving this goal.

What is an interactive game? It’s a form of amusement where the results that are achieved at various points of the game are determined based on the response to decisions and inputs made by the player who is directly involved in the action. Thus, in terms of preschool learning games, an example of an interactive activity is a computer game that requires a child to move the mouse and click on different parts of the screen to complete the task.

In addition, another great aspect about using games as a teaching tool is they build a child’s confidence, keep them motivated and give them a sense of accomplishment. The more positive and fun a learning experienced can be, the more a kid will take from it.
