    Cerebral Palsy

    August 18, 2008

Having a child should be one of the greatest days of your life. Sadly, for some parents it is not always the case. Do you know how to find honest, hardworking cerebral palsy lawyers? I could not imagine going through such a tragedy, but having the knowledge and background on attorney’s is always a good thing to have. You and your family have enough to worry about, why not go into child birth prepared?  Even if nothing happens, you will still have the knowledge and resources to help you and your family out should an emergency occur.

    Memory Cards

When my grandparents took off for Alaska, I made sure to stock my grandmother up with memory cards.  She is not very computer savvy- so just in case she forgot how to upload pictures to her laptop, I made sure I supplied her with 2-3 of my memory cards for the digital camera.  Nothing is worse than not having extra cards on hand when you have nothing to do with the pictures you’re taking on vacation- so be prepared!

    Florette 4-Piece Crib Bedding Set

    July 24, 2008

After a purchase gone wrong at Wal-Mart for Ethan’s crib bedding set, Jeff and I were both hesitant about buying from them again.  Living in a small town like we do, Wal-Mart is pretty much our only choice for shopping unless we want to drive over an hour away.  I decided to give Wal-Mart another try and purchased this adorable crib bedding set from them.

One of the first things that impressed us this time around was the mere fact that I ordered the bedding on a Wednesday afternoon, well after 1pm.  Thursday evening sometime between 5pm and 6pm we were greeted by our UPS man holding a box.  I could not believe how quickly they were able to get the bedding to me!

We were even more impressed when we opened up the box to see the bedding.  Seeing the picture on the Wal-Mart website did not do this bedding any justice.  The green is more of a grass green than the minty/sage color in the photo and the pink and red are not as vibrant as the picture shows, but still very beautiful.

The only downfall we found to this set and possibly any other set we would have liked to purchase is that the bumper does not tie around the crib very well, which is most likely due to the sleigh bed style crib we had purchased.

    Simplicity Ellis 4-in-1 Crib

My parents have started a tradition in our family of buying the 1st born grandchild a bedroom set.  My mother and I spent hours looking through catalogs and picking out the “right” set for Ethan.  The amount of money my mother had spent was more than generous, but had I known that Wal-Mart, Target, or even Meijer’s sold the same crib sets through their stores I would not have allowed her to spend that kind of money.

With the knowledge we had accumulated since the purchase of Ethan’s bedroom set, Jeff and I began searching for a crib set through our local retail stores and fell in love.  We purchased the Simplicity Ellis 4-in-1 crib with a cherry finish.  The crib is made from hardwood and stained with a nontoxic finish.  I cannot tell you how impressed we are by this gorgeous crib!

When we make the next big purchase (changing table and dresser), I will be sure to update you all.  I wouldn’t want anybody spending big money on cribs, dressers, or changing tables when you can buy them at a reasonable price.

    A Mother’s Dream!

    July 22, 2008

    Hi,

I came across a great site- It is run by a mother of triplets! During her pregnancy she gathered tons of contacts and phone numbers for free samples, free diapers, free formula. She has pictures of so many items she has recieved for free.

She put all this into a 35 page ebook. There are checklists and a page full of phone numbers that you can call to get free baby stuff.

Here is a quote from the triplets mom:

“If you are having a baby and you DON’T get this information you are throwing your money away. We spent literally hours upon hours gathering all of this information. You can now take this consolidated information (much of which is in a simple checklist) and get hundreds of dollars worth of FREE baby items and baby information.!

    Laziness takes over, again.

    July 14, 2008

I am trying to work up the motivation to haul stuff out to the garage today, but cannot seem to get off my bum and do so.  My sister in-law, nephew and niece are on their way down from Detroit and I’d really like to clean up the house some.  I just cannot seem to get myself motivated.  Sigh… the life of a pregnant housewife, no?  Actually, I have gotten some things done today just not as much as I was hoping to accomplish.  I could probably get off-line and take care of things now or at least I should get off-line and take care of things.  Will try to post some more later on this evening, but don’t hold your breath. :)

    Fixer upper, in progress.

As many of my readers know, husband and I love to remodel homes. Our very first home was a major fixer upper and while we didn’t do much of the work ourselves, we are able to envision what we wanted and put others to work. Our house was exactly what we wanted and I could not have been happier.

Now in our new home, we are looking at a list of Columbus Contractors for some drywall installation. Our basement has sadly been destroyed by water, mold and mice. Once the drywall is done I would love to hire someone to come in and do our painting, as Jeff and I are horrible painters.

Thanks to my handy internet knowledge, I was able to find all the contractors we could ever need at contractors.clicksmart.com! You simply click on your state, then find the city that you’re looking for. How easy is that? It literally only takes minutes to use and you can have a full, detailed list of contractors by their jobs. So the next time you’re looking for that perfect plumber, dry waller, or electrician don’t forget to use this website!

    Car seats, again?

    July 13, 2008

I am not a big fan of car seats, but I do realize the importance of them. And to be completely honest, there could be much worse things lurking around the ‘ol childrearing scene. But despite my position on car seats, I must say that our favorite one of the few we’ve bought are the Britax car seats. Nice and comfortable, I presume. Ethan whined while sitting in the Eddie Bauer, but has done amazing in the Britax…. so I’m taking that as a hint!
