I’m a man now. “ It would not have been a “true” Ethan moment without his commentary.

So back to school shopping… I have had several people tell me I am insane for purchasing new clothes for E this school year. Am I the only parent who goes back to school shopping with a child his age? It’s not as though I purchased a ton of things for him.. we purchased a couple of hoodies, “mens t shirts” (he calls them his men shirts), and some jeans. He also got a new pair of z-strap tennis shoes. The hoodie in the picture is one of my favorites.. My son is an absolute doll in his new clothes.

In September, I will officially be the mama to kindergartner. He past his “test” with flying colors, we filled out all of our paper work and put in our request for his teacher. Waiting to go school clothes shopping was beginning to drive me completely batty, hence the reason for a little therapeutic clothes shopping this past weekend. I was limited on time, so I quickly ran down to the Children’s Place at our local outlet mall (one of my all-time favorite children’s stores).

Ethan was not with me, but because we frequent the store so often, he was able to sort of “list” items that he would/would not like me to pick up for him. My grandmother was sort of shocked that I was taking E’s opinion into consideration and let me hear all about it on the car ride there. In her eyes, children should not have a lot of say at his age and I believe that a child should have some opinion in the matter. After all, they will be the ones wearing these clothing over the course of several weeks/months. Am I the only parent with this perspective?

Despite our clashing of opinions, the shopping trip was well worth my time. I was able to snag up several good deals for both kids and save a bundle of money (as usual). I was able to snag up several tops, shoes and accessories for both of the kids for under $90. It’s no wonder I love shopping this store, plus they seem to be the best fitting clothing for my oddly shaped children!

One of the most frustrating things for me to shop for is clothing. More specifically clothing for work. I love having to wear scrubs to work every day, as they are absolutely comfy. But what I hate is for the ill way the tops fit me. I can buy my regular top size and the shirt fits fabulously and/or the shirt fits terribly. If I go up a size, the shirt is a little baggier or it is so darn big that I am swimming in it. There is no happy medium. There is no purchasing my scrubs from the same company because get this– all of my tops are from the same brand. Every last ill fitting, perfect fitting and even those too big are the exact same brand.

I am currently perusing online, trying to find discount medical uniforms. I am not paying out the wazoo for a scrub uniform until I know just how well the brand is going to fit me. And I know there are several bloggers out there in the medical profession, so tell me, what is your favorite brand of scrub wear?

Having a job in the medical field has it perks. I do not have to spend hours sorting through clothes, trying to figure out what to wear. I do not have to get all gussied up. In fact, I can literally roll out of bed and throw on clothing similar to pajamas. I absolutely love being able to wear scrubs every night. My biggest concern about my outfit is how my hair looks and even then, I have to wear it pulled away from my face.

What I need to know from my readers is this- do any of you wear/order scrubs online? I have about five sets from http://www.blueskyscrubs.com and while I love their scrubs, I want something different. I want something with pattern. And at the rate I have been dropping weight lately, I definitely need to invest in new scrubs sometime soon. I can take wear a baggier top, but when I am constantly having to pull up my pants? It’s time to go shopping!

As summer quickly approaches, I am finding myself in a completely chaotic state.

First and foremost.. I need summer clothes and stat! All of those cute dresses/skirts I purchased last summer no longer fit. Somehow in the mix of everything, I have managed to lose weight. I also need some cute shoes/sandals, but for crying out loud… they hardly make any cute womens sandals for those us that wear a size twelve. Or am I imagining that?

Secondly.. the kids and I are getting ready to move into our own home. It needs some remodeling, but it’s livable in it’s current state. It’s all cosmetic and can be worked on as time and money allow. I am a little nervous to be taking on such a big investment by myself, but pretty excited at the same time.

And thirdly.. I am in the process of planning a Disney vacation for me and the kids. The plan is to leave the day after Christmas and come home January 2nd or 3rd. Planning has gone fabulously thus far, so we shall see how the end process turns out. My grandparents are renting one of their time shares for the children and I to use, as they want to be part of their first Disney vacation/experience.

So that is my life in a nutshell. There is a lot going on right now, hence the reason for all of these guest posts and lack of updates.
