About a month ago, Addison received a package filled with items from the My Princess Closet boutique. In that package was this little purse, cute as could be. Addison is in love with that purse and takes it with her every place we go. She clings tightly to it throughout the day and never allows it to leave her side- even at bedtime.
While she was asleep the other night, I decided to sneak the purse from her bedroom. It needed a good washing after being covered in gallons of drool and Lord only knows what else. As I opened up the purse, which doesn’t have a large storage capacity, I was amazed at how much stuff Addison crammed into that little thing. She’s a hoarder y’all– filling that purse to the brim with everything she can find, no matter how insignificant.
Both her and her brother’s imaginations amaze me. They can take the simplest things and turn them into something magnificent. Two weeks ago, after spending the weekend with my grandmother, the kids came home with an arm full of goodies. Ethan received a car tent, Addison a Disney Princess tent. Ethan set it up to look like a little camping village, with their play kitchen in the middle, that he calls their “store.” They will play for hours in their tents and running to the kitchen to buy food. Addison will open that little purse of hers, pull out one of Ethan’s animal trading cards and away she goes. She never actually walks away with anything, but has fun pretending she’s a big girl and paying for things. Ethan will use one of his daddy’s old wallets, pulls out a quarter and drops it into his piggy bank to pay.
Watching them play melts my heart. I hope that as they grow older, they continue to be the best of friends.

Raising children in Michigan weather is not always easy. I can have my diaper bag completely stocked up and ready to roll the following morning only to wake up to see 2 feet of snow in mid-April instead of the beautiful 60 degree weather we had just a day before. I honestly had two diaper bags packed at all times- one for the good weather and one for the bad, then I got smart.
Skipping Hippo ponchos offers the perfect solution to parents who live in climates like mine. And I know that jackets/coats work perfect and have worked perfectly for my son in the past, but things have changed. I have a daughter- a five month old diva that loves to wear all things cute and trendy. Instead of putting my little “Queenie” into a jacket, I cover her up with an adorable poncho (or two) from Skipping Hippos.
Many of you may know about Skipping Hippos through Parents Magazine, Tot Trends, Baby Couture or several websites across the web. Skipping Hippos is most famous for their adorable ponchos, available in multiple colors and from sizes 6 months to 6 years. All Skipping Hippos ponchos are made from super soft fleece adorned with cute color coordinating pom poms and or ric rac. Every girl will love to get their hands on these, as will those passing by.
Creator of the Skipping Hippos poncho collection have offered consumers a bit of advice when they make the decision to purchase one of their ponchos (see below).
If you and your daughter are on an undercover spy mission, do not let her wear the poncho. If you and your daughter are hoping for a low profile, dash out un-noticed, errand, don’t put the poncho on her. People will stop you, and people will notice and people will talk about your beautiful little girl in her cute little poncho.

As a little girl, I always dreamed about being a Fairy Princess who had special magical power with the wave of a wand.. and I know I am not alone. Many little girls dream of these very things. My family did not have a lot of money when I was growing up and to be honest, the dress up clothing/toys available were not nearly as sophisticated as the items found today.
As I sit here planning out my 4 month old daughter’s 1st birthday party, the first website that comes to mind in helping me pull off the “Fairy Princess” theme I am shopping for is Posh Little Tutus. I recently received one of their tutus and am honestly in awe. The lavender tutu came with little purple flowers, embellished with a rhinestone in their center. In fact, it was their tutu that gave me the idea for my daughter’s birthday party.
Posh Little Tutus not only sells Tutus, but they also sell Pettiskirts / Petticoats- which are breathtakingly beautiful, fairy wings, tiaras, princess gloves, fairy princess wands and so much more. Their website is literally a one stop shopping site for all your fairy princess needs! Want to make your little Princess’ Tutu more special? Customize it by personally selecting the color(s) you wish to have used. When ordering your Tutu, you have the option to “jazz them up” by adding silk flowers or crystals. When you decide to customize your tutu, you will be given the chance to select whether or not you’d like to add ribbon roses, the color of the ribbon roses, rhinestones, ribbon streamers, marabou and the color of the marabou. You can “jazz” up your tutu for an additional cost, but nothing so expensive that it makes you cringe.
And for those of you who are conscious about purchasing only American made brands, you will be happy to know that Posh Little Tutus are handcrafted in the USA from the finest premium tulle.

How many times have you gone into a store looking for that special onesie, but can only find plain solid onesies? Or ones with the ridiculous sayings? Granted some of the onesies decorated in sayings are cute, but they are also very cliche. Why not doll your little one up in an Alphabet Onesie from BabyKakes, Inc.? Not only will the alphabet onesie/tee be personalized to your specific child, but the designs are sure to make your little one stand out in a crowd!
We recently received the absolutely adorable Alphabet Pink and CoaCoa Dot Onesie. I could not wait to put the onesie on my daughter to snap a few pictures. As I have said many times, comfort is key when shopping for my daughter and this onesie is comfortable as it is made from 100% cotton and extremely soft to the touch. Plus, this onesie offers an added bonus. You see that brown and pink polka dot bow? It is removable! While you keep the onesie as a keepsake, your daughter will be able to sport the adorable hair bow.
Don’t be surprised when people stop you to ask where you purchased your Alphabet Onesie because I promise you that they will. Be sure to visit BabyKakes, Inc for all the latest and greatest trendsetting apparel, accessories and nursery decor.

Living in Michigan presents many challenges when it comes to going outdoors with my children. Our weather changes in the blink of an eye- just take last week for instance. We had around 4 feet of snow on the ground, then we had rain showers for two days straight and now it’s hovering in the high 50’s outside. Toting around a seven or eight different blankets is not an option for me, as I am usually toting my two children by myself.
Rain or Shine Kids offers moms in the same situation as me a solution to the never ending weather changes. Their new ‘b’ blanket line is not only fashionable, but very affordable. Their blankets are water resistant, but not uncomfortable. One side offers you the water resistant material, while the other is made from a nice, soft fleece material to keep your baby comfortable and warm.
And makes this blanket even more special is that you will no longer find yourself fighting with blankets while trying to get them to stay in place on your child’s stroller or car seat. In the top two corners, you will find ribbons to tie the blanket to a stroller, car seat or even a baby carrier. I have even used this blanket to conceal my daughter while breastfeeding in public, without the worry of showing other people the goods. It literally is the perfect blanket for any caregiver to have when it comes to small children.
You can pick these blankets up in a neutral rings pattern, a blue squares pattern or pink sunburst pattern for around $36.00, which doesn’t seem like much when you see how functional this blanket truly is and how important it will become in your everyday adventures!

I love shopping for my children and dressing them up when we go some place. When we take them out to a restaurant, people will often times comment on clean my toddler son is after eating dinner and then we share with them the secret to our keeping clothes clean success- Baby Chaleco bibs! At my sons age, keeping his clothes clean during meals is a hard task with a standard bib.
With the Baby Chaleco, we put the vest on over my sons clothing and away he goes with eating. And it’s easy to fold up and store in the diaper. We have also found that the vest lasts much longer than your standard bib. We don’t have to worry about liquids seeping into the vest like we did with standard bibs. You will also love how friendly the vest is for those babies with larger heads (like my son). We reommend this item to any parent, grandparent or anyone around children. Not only does it help keep clothes from being drooled on or stained, but parents no longer have to stress or worry about whether their child has extra tops in their bag while out and about. Of course, I still recommend maybe a change of clothing in the ‘ol bag, but doubt you will need it once you invest in the Baby Chaleco vest!
