Ethan is attending the very same elementary school I once attended. Some mornings when I drop him off, I have a hard time believing that I have a child old enough to attend this very school. Ethan has also been fortunate enough to have the same amazing teachers as I have growing up.
For instance, my band teacher growing up was awesome. He was very passionate about music and ensuring that children succeeded. When I began playing the saxophone, he was right there by my side helping me and encouraging me to do my very best. Honestly, I am not sure I would have stuck it out as long as I did had it not been for him.
Well, long story short, Ethan has the exact same teacher for his music appreciation class. Mr. S commented the last time I bumped into him at school that it made him feel old that I had a child enough to be in his classroom. Although Ethan has a few years left to decide on whether he’d like to join band, I’ve decided to start pricing out instruments and comparing them. Would it be more cost efficient for him to Rent an instrument online or for me to purchase one out right? Of course, should he want to play the saxophone or clarinet, his mama and Gamma can hook him up. Our instruments are still in pristine condition and are taken care of monthly.
This band nerd mama is hoping and praying that both Ethan and Addison will follow in her footsteps and join band when they get older.
