If you have been reading long, than you probably know by now much undying love for all things Walmart. Sure you might here me complain about them from time to time, but Walmart definitely ranks as one of my favorite stores. You see, how many places can you go to that offer one stop shopping at such low costs?
Superbowl Sunday is this weekend and in our family, it is sort of a big deal. Family and friends pour into one family room, munching away on snacks and begin yelling cheering at the television. I am not a big football fan myself, but I do enjoy watching the Superbowl. The ads are almost always hilarious and the halftime show is usually fairly entertaining. Superbowl Sunday is a win-win celebration for everyone.
Today, I will begin preparation for our Superbowl get together. I will be heading to Walmart, complete with their Game Time shopping list (plus/minus a few items). Tomorrow I will do a good deep cleaning and then Sunday will be the big day. Walmart is ensuring that us ladies can provide game-time snacks for the ultimate SuperBowl XLIV celebration by coming up with a party menu for as low as $44! If I were not a regular Walmart shopper, you can bet I’d think they were off their rocker, but it is true. For $44 you can purchase game-time snacks for eight including: one package of Oscar Mayer Hot Dogs, one package of Johnsonville Bratwursts, two packages of Great Value Hot Dog Buns, two boxes of T.G.I Friday’s Frozen Appetizers, one Hormel Supreme Party Tray, a 12? Chocolate Chunk cookie and two boxes of Nabisco Wheat Thins or Triscuit Crackers. Such a steal!

Caregivers do not always get the recognition they deserve, so that is why CVS/Pharmacy set up the “For All The Ways You Care” contest . The mission? To celebrate and honor all of those caregivers across America. Entering the contest is easy. You just simply go to the website, type up your story and submit. You can choose to nominate yourself or someone you know that is deserving.
Stories can be published on the website for others to view or kept private for only the judges eyes. Inspiration stories can be submitted up to March 1st, when the panel of judges will narrow down the list down to ten finalists. The ten finalists will then be honored at a luncheon and luxury weekend in New York City in May! With nine of these finalists being awarded $10,000 for their commitment to caring. The grand prize winner will be awarded $25,000.
Last year’s grand prize winner was Judy McAtee. She has fostered 30 children, mother of 12 (including 10 adopted children), and a provider of counseling for 18 families going through the adoption process. And if this was not enough, Judy is also an advocate for children with special needs (as a result of caring for a child with special needs), but she also does home-schooling and tutoring for children other than her own. She is truly an inspiration to women all over the world. To view a video of Judy’s story, you may find it in the archives.
Good luck, caregivers!

If you are the parent or caregiver of ‘tweens or teenagers, I am positive that you have heard of stores such as American Eagle. What you may not know is that American Eagle launched a line of children’s clothing- 77Kids. We at Pajama Mommy Community are proud to help 77Kids celebrate their spring collection!
And let me tell you, it is a collection worth scopin’ out! I have already purchased more than I should have and intend on going back for more. I am a very price conscious shopper, so when I hear about name brand children’s retailers I am always a bit reluctant. 77Kids prices are fairly reasonable, but their sales make that much more tempting to do a bit of online shopping.
When you visit the 77Kids website, be sure to sign up for their shopping spree sweepstakes. One lucky winner will win a $500 shopping spree, while five others will receive $100 gift certificates. Good luck to those of you who enter the sweepstakes! If you win, be sure to drop us a line and tell us about it. We love hearing from our readers when we have directed them towards a sweepstakes and find out that they have won!

As a busy mom, I do not always get to indulge in the luxury of fine culinary dining. In fact, the last time I ate something other than Applebee’s or Pizza Hut would have been four years ago- when the hubby and I first got married. Pepto Bismol understands a busy moms need for culinary excitement once in a while- so they decided to host a sweepstakes where the Grand Prize winner will win a getaway to the delicious city of their choice, complete with spending money and a restaurant guide that will direct them to all the tastiest hot spots.
To enter yourself into this sweepstakes, simply go to Pepto Cherry Taste Adevnture website. Once you have entered for the Grand Prize giveaway, you will automatically be entered for the Weekly Prizes- including travel expert Andrew Zimmern’s DVD collection, a $100 dining card, a 5 quart dutch oven and much, much more! For more chances to win, enter the contest daily!

Jeff received our health insurance cards yesterday. They’re not in effect yet (which I already knew), but I wanted to find out what doctors are/are not covered through the plan so I could make necessary adjustments. Unfortunately, pretty much nothing locally is in our network. We would have to change all of Ethan’s doctors- pediatrician, cardiologist, neurologist, and pulmonary care specialist.
I am alright with having to change my doctors around a bit, but I am so uncomfortable changing his around. We love his doctors and they give us the best service imaginable.
Now I am back to square one- hunting down an affordable health insurance plan. Jeff and I could purchase the Flexible Blue – 2500 plan through Blue Cross Blue Shield, which would cover Ethan’s appointments, but not my doctors. I do not really want to switch my OB/GYN, but I would for Ethan. If anyone knows any good deals on health insurance… send them my way!
Also, the winners of my Valentine’s drawing are:Â Jess, Niky, and Beth.

After sitting down and figuring out our account balances for my 101 Goals in 1001 Days page, I have decided how I’d like to spend the money from our tax return. And yes, I said I because the hubby really doesn’t care where the money is spent as long as bills are paid and it means that we can be a little more debt free. My goal or plan of action, if you will, is to make a couple of vehicle payments ahead, buy dressers for bedroom, pay off our Retail Services card (Best Buy), $1,000.00+ on our Sam’s Club Discover card, and possibly pay off the smaller two credit card balances: Chase & Capital One. Why am I not worrying about the other Retail Services card? Simple- 0% interest until 2011. As long as I keep making larger payments each month, it’ll be paid off in no time.
What ever money is left over will be put into savings. Just paying down/paying off our smaller debts helps us out.
Speaking of helping out- don’t forget to submit your Valentine’s stories for a chance to win your very own, personalized fruit roll-ups! Contest ends tomorrow at midnight. Winners will be announced Friday!!
